Koyori Project
Lanna Culture and Craft Association (LCCA) and Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna collaborated in organizing the Koyori Project 2024 to develop the local handicraft groups linking the community business to reduce social inequality
The Koyori Project 2024 includes Thai and Japanese consultants, designers students of the universities from Thailand and Japan, interpreters and 30 OTOP artisans from 8 Northern provinces (Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae and Nan), 1 artisan from vulnerable groups After the product development phase which spanned 4 months, the project selected top ten products to be displayed in Chiang Mai Design Week 2024 and Bangkok Design Week 2025 holding by Creative Economy Agency(CEA)
The success of this project resulted from support by the National Research Council of Thailand, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and the Creative Economy Agency. Yip In Tsoi & Co. Limited assisted in promoting the project through the Koyori : The fusion and continuation of handicrafts by television series aired on Thai PBS. Thank you to all parties who contributed in making this project a complete success.
