The Chiang Mai Youth Poetry Slam is an interschool spoken word competition for young poets aged 6–
18. Each participating school may send a team and/or 1 solo performer of each category to represent
them. We have two categories: Primary and Secondary.
Students will perform their original poems on stage, using their voices, emotions, and creativity to
express their ideas. It’s a fun and powerful way for young people to speak up and be heard.
Students can choose to perform solo, in pairs, or in groups of up to four. All poems must be original and
can be in English, Thai, or bilingual format.
Whether it's about the world, school life, dreams, personal stories, social issues they care about, or their
connection to Chiang Mai. This event gives students the chance to use poetry to share what truly
matters to them.
The event is open to the public and celebrates youth voices, creativity, and community. Let’s come
together to listen, learn, and be inspired by the next generation of poets.
