บ้านก้อแซนด์บ๊อกซ์

This new collection of textiles and garments originates from the Ban Kor Sandbox Project, implemented by the Ananda Mahidol Foundation Alumni Association in Kor Subdistrict, Li District, Lamphun Province. The area is surrounded on all sides by the Mae Ping National Park, which has faced persistent forest fire issues for at least 20 years. Additionally, the area has long struggled with forest encroachment and forest resource utilisation practices that conflict with conservation principles and legal regulations. As Ban Kor is an isolated community, separated from other settlements, research results are clear and focused. Ban Kor serves as a case study for holistic development. The activities of the Ban Kor Sandbox Project encompass various domains, including the support of national park operations, reforestation efforts, the construction of check dams to slow water flow, the promotion of supplementary occupations, agriculture, fish farming, cultivation of high-value crops, and the production of textile and bamboo handicrafts. Thus, research into the development of community handicraft products is carried out within the broader context of comprehensive development for both the community and the environment. This provides a strong and clear foundation for developing theoretical frameworks in community-based design, which can serve as a model for application in other communities in the future.
