Chiang Mai City Craft Space

City Craft Space - Craft, Culture & Conscious Living

Exhibition: "Rhythm of Kad Luang” An exhibition on place, memory, and the rhythm of everyday life. Kad Luang is more than a market. It moves with its own rhythm –the murmur of conversations, the sound of footsteps, the laughter between vendors and buyers, the wheels of carts rolling through narrow aisles. These are the heartbeats of Chiang Mai’s old town, echoing in the city’s oldest and most vibrant marketplace. The exhibition is divided into 4 zones: 1. The Visual Beat - When images begin to move with the rhythm of time. 2. The Taste of Pulse - Taste as memory, and memory as movement. 3. The Scent of Memory - Scents as invisible timekeepers. 4. The Pulse of Sound - When small sounds become the rhythm of the city. “Rhythm of Kad Luang” invites visitors to listen to the city with their hearts rather than their ears. The exhibition traces the everyday pulse of life that continues to flow through Kad Luang, from dawn to dusk. This is more than just an exhibition to look at, but an experience to feel a collective heartbeat composed of people, places, and time. ------------------------------------------------------------ Chiang Mai Craft Spirit Day 2025: Soil, Water, Hand A celebration of fermentation, soil, and wisdom. This event aims to bring people back to rediscover the taste of soil, local ingredients, and the Lanna art of fermentation. It explores fermentation not only as a process of making, but as a philosophy of transformation, where time, patience, and craft meet. The festival features two main parts: 1. Open Exhibition (Free Admission) An outdoor installation beneath the trees, showcasing ingredients such as rice, sugarcane, and cacao, the raw materials behind community-made spirits. Arranged with marigolds and S-shaped tables, the space invites visitors to experience fermentation as both a local tradition and a living form of cultural knowledge. 2. Workshop: Tasting & Story (Ticket 690 THB) A mindful tasting and learning circle featuring three craft spirit makers, each sharing their process, ingredients, and stories of origin. Visitors will taste and pair three small samples (with non-alcoholic options available), and receive a 50ml sample bottle to take home. Held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, 16:00–18:00, with only 10 seats per session for an intimate, sensory experience. This is a journey of learning and appreciation, and an invitation to rediscover the meaning of fermentation as a living art form in contemporary Lanna culture.
